FAITH AND POWER


The only faith, the only way: is truth.

For faith is ultimately about having faith in the power of faith itself. And intrinsically faith requires reliance on reason, thus faith in the power of reason overrides faith that asks for the unreasonable.

This can be described as temperance, prudence, ethos or ethic: The perseverance of fact beyond time's illusion to the contrary. Reason is essentially that purely honest people can rely on the honest attempt of the judgment of others. And that the short term loss gained by intrinsic honesty is offset by a larger long term gain which is denied to the deceiver. For truth to prevail one must believe that lies lead to destruction. One must know this at all costs, and also that the path of pure reason is the only way to avoid misery, the only path to salvation.


This is what is meant by the message of the Christ. Not that if we mutter prayers and worship his image, that we will be saved from eternal hellfire. But that the eternal damnation of hell is here and now, and as such this NOW! is the afterlife of yesteryear.

This is why redemption is without punishment, for misery lies inevitably in whether we tell the truth or lie here and now.

Pretence at redemption and its ritual enactment compounds the lot of the sinner so remarkably, for who would ever again trust the word of such a person? Self-deception is the most foolish of follies.


Truth is its own redemption, made viable by faith in universal reason. Consciousness and conscience are both choices. Their consequence cannot be altered even by the spirit of God, for they are the embodied spirit of God. Freely chosen through acceptance of honesty over deception without exception.


 


Lies burn with the liar, and the ashes and the smoke dissipate.
